The acculturation of research culture is imperative for i-CATS University College (i-CATS UC) as it embarks on its journey to be a full-fledged university. To that end, a special fund, the i-CATS Research and Innovation Grant Scheme (iRIGS) acts as a seed grant to assist scholars of i-CATS UC to kick-start their research and helps develop a project to the point where external funding can be obtained.Â
The i-CATS Research Management Centre (iRMC) is pleased to announce the Call for Grant Proposals for the i-CATS Research & Innovation Grant Scheme (iRIGS) 2023. This funding opportunity aims to support innovative and impactful research projects within the i-CATS University College community.
Eligibility:
Researchers and faculty members of i-CATS University College are eligible to apply.
The Principal Investigator (PI) must be a faculty member of i-CATS University College.
Collaborative, inter-faculty, and interdisciplinary research projects are encouraged.
Proposed projects should align with the research priorities of i-CATS University College.
Grant Details:
Funding is available for research projects in various disciplines.
Grant amounts will be determined based on the proposed project’s scope and requirements.
The funding period will be for one year, commencing upon grant approval.
Application Process:
The iRIGS handbook and application form are available on the i-CATS Research Management Centre (iRMC) website.

Complete the application form, following the provided instructions and guidelines.
A softcopy of the technical proposal and the financial proposal should be submitted to respective research coordinator for compilation. Note that the softcopy submission need not be signed.
A signed hardcopy of the application form should be submitted to the iRMC office, located on level 2. Incomplete forms will be returned.
Evaluation and Selection:
All submitted proposals will undergo a rigorous evaluation process by a panel of experts in their respective fields.
Evaluation criteria will include the project’s significance, methodology, feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with i-CATS University College’s research priorities.
Successful applicants will be notified of the grant decision within the specified timeline.
